The Kashmir Files has smashed all records at the box office. It reportedly earned Rs 98.25 crore in seven days, and will likely enter Rs 100 core-club today.

Vivek Agnihotri's film, The Kashmir Files has broken all records at the box office. Before even completing one week in the theatres, the film is all set to cross Rs 100 crore. On Day 7, it minted Rs 19 crore reportedly, taking the total box office collection to Rs 98.25 crore. The Kashmir Files, which released on March 11, is based on the exodus of Kashmiri Hindus during the Kashmir insurgency in 1990. The film stars Anupam Kher, Darshan Kumaar, Mithun Chakraborty and Pallavi Joshi.

The Kashmir Files earned Rs 79.25 crore at the worldwide box office on Day 6. And on Day 7, it went on to earn Rs 19.05 crore reportedly, which is 5.83 per cent more than the previous day. The total box office collection now stands at Rs 98.25 crore reportedly. The second-week collection of Vivek Agnihotri’s film is expected to be more than what the film earns this week. We are sure it would enter the Rs 100-crore club soon. All eyes are now set on the Holi holiday as well as the second weekend since its release. It would also be interesting to watch the Anupam Kher-starrer compete with Akshay Kumar's Bachchhan Pandey that releases on March 18.

The Kashmir Files tells the true story of brutal sufferings endured by Kashmiri Pandits in 1990, during the Kashmir insurgency. It is a true story, based on video interviews of the first generation victims of The Kashmir Genocide of Kashmiri Pandit Community. It’s a heart-wrenching narrative of the pain, suffering, struggle and trauma of Kashmiri pandits and questions eye-opening facts about democracy, religion, politics and humanity.

The Kashmir Files' cast features Anupam Kher as Pushkarnath, Mithun Chakraborty as Brahma Dutt, Darshan Kumar as Krishna Pandit, Pallavi Joshi as Radhika Menon, Bhasha Sumbali as Shraddha Pandit and Chinmay Mandlekar as Farooq Malik aka Bitta, among others. The film is bankrolled by Tej Narayan Agarwal, Abhishek Agarwal, Pallavi Joshi and Vivek Agnihotri under the Zee Studios, IAmBuddha and Abhishek Agarwal Arts banners.
