The National Commission for Women has summoned Nora Fatehi, Sanjay Dutt, and the makers of the song Sarke Chunar for a March 24 hearing following allegations of obscenity and sexually suggestive content.
The NCW (National Commission for Women) has taken action against the makers of the song Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke. The named parties have been asked to appear before the commission on March 24 along with relevant documents.
The NCW in its X post issued a statement which read, "The National Commission for Women, in exercise of its powers under the NCW Act, 1990, has taken suo motu cognizance of media reports alleging obscenity and vulgarity in the song Sarke Chunar Teri Sarke. Observing that the content prima facie appears to be sexually suggestive, objectionable, and violative of provisions under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, IT Act, and POCSO Act, the Commission has taken serious note of the matter (sic)."

"Summons have been issued to actress Nora Fatehi, Raqueeb Alam, actor Sanjay Dutt, Venkat K. Narayana (Producer, KVN Group), and Kiran Kumar (Director) directing them to appear before the Commission. They have been asked to appear on 24.03.2026 at 12:30 PM along with relevant documents. Failure to appear may invite appropriate action as per law (sic)," the statement concluded.
Earlier, actor-dancer Nora Fatehi on Wednesday addressed the controversy surrounding her song Sarke Chunar from the upcoming film KD – The Devil. She said she doesn't understand the Kannada language, in which the original song, Sarse Ninna, is composed, and added that she was unaware of the song's Hindi version, Sarke Chunar.
Nora mentioned that once she heard the Hindi version of the track — a language she is familiar with — she immediately warned the director that the song would likely face a negative reaction.
