The Ashes: England await Covid-19 RT-PCR test results after another dismal day in Boxing Day Test

The Ashes: England players took the field on Day 2 after clearing antigen tests even as 2 of their support staff members tested positive for Covid on Monday. However, the entire squad had RT-PCR tests later in the day.
The fate of the Ashes hangs in balance as England players and support staff are waiting the results of Covid-19 RT-PCR tests after positive cases in their camp in Melbourne. As many as two members of the support staff and 2 members of their families tested positive on Monday but Day 2 of the Boxing Day Test proceeded as scheduled as the players and the remaining members of the support staff returned negative results in antigen tests for the virus earlier in the day.
Play started on Day 2 of the 3rd Ashes Test after a 30-minute delay as England players proceeded to the ground after negative antigen tests.
