Telangana offers technological and institutional support to Tanzania for its digital economy transition, fostering collaboration in various sectors.
Telangana has offered assistance to Tanzania by way of technological cooperation and institutional support as the African country looks to transition into a digital economy.
IT and Industries Minister D. Sridhar Babu conveyed the State’s willingness to a visiting high-level delegation led by Tanzania’s Minister for Communication, ICT and Innovation Mudrick Ramadhani Soraga that met him here on Saturday.
Telangana would prepare a roadmap for strategic collaboration in areas such as IT, tourism, healthcare, Life Sciences, emerging technologies, digital governance, digital public infrastructure, startups, innovation ecosystems and skill development. Mr. Sridhar Babu said this highlighting the State’s digital transformation and how it has built a strong reputation for technology-driven governance and innovation.
“Digital transformation has become a key driver of inclusive social and economic growth. Telangana is willing to share its experience, technical expertise and institutional knowledge to support Tanzania’s efforts to build a digital economy,” he said.
Both sides discussed opportunities to strengthen cooperation across a range of sectors, the Minister’s office said in a release on the meeting.
Telangana would also examine the feasibility of establishing a pharmaceutical distribution hub in Tanzania to support the supply of medicines and healthcare products. The State could serve as a knowledge partner in areas such as citizen service delivery through MeeSeva, promotion of women entrepreneurship through WE Hub and strengthening startup and innovation ecosystems. Support could also be extended for skilling, reskilling and upskilling programmes through the Young India Skills University, he added.
