Telangana man dials 100, tells constables to bring him chilled beer; booked

A 22-year-old man, Madhu, from Telangana’s Vikarabad, was in trouble with the police after he dialled 100 stating he had an emergency and asked constables who arrived at his house to get him two bottles of beer.
The incident was reported in Telangana’s Vikarabad town on Monday, May 9. The man, identified as Madhu, dialled the 100 emergency number and asked the Vikarabad police control room to help him.
The operators in the control room asked Madhu to state the nature of the emergency, but Madhu said he could not disclose it over the phone.
The control room sent constables who were on patrol to Madhu’s house in Daulatabad. The cops who arrived on the scene were shocked when the caller, who was already drunk, told the constables to get two chilled beers for him, since all the liquor outlets in the area were closed.
Angered by this, the policemen thrashed him up and booked a petty case against him, reported the Deccan Chronicle.
A report by The News Minute states that he was asked to come to the police station the next morning with his father and he was counselled.
