Telangana Congress to provide Rs 2 lakh insurance cover as part of membership drive

Every Congress member in Telangana will now be eligible for an accidental insurance of Rs 2 lakh. The initiative is part of Congress' membership drive.
In a first, Telangana Congress is aiming to provide accidental insurance cover to each and every member of the party. The initiative was taken up as part of its membership drive in the state.
Around 39 lakh people, who have enrolled themselves during the party's ongoing membership drive, are eligible for insurance coverage of Rs 2 lakh.

Manickam Tagore, the AICC in-charge of Telangana said, “Telangana Congress is providing digital membership for the party and we have decided that each member will be insured with an accidental policy of Rs 2 lakh each. Local and state leaders from Telangana to generate money for this insurance scheme. Around 39 lakh members have been enrolled so far and Telangana Congress has decided to complete the insurance process for them.”
Telangana Congress President Revanth Reddy told India Today that measures have been taken to ensure that accident insurance policy cover is being provided to around 39 lakh people who have taken Congress party’s membership.
"Congress is a family and as a family, we stand with each worker and the party will stand with them. This is the ideology of Rahul Gandhi and Congress has launched this pilot project in Telangana,” the TPCC said in a statement.
