Teachers’ forum adopts resolutions against NEP, Hindi imposition

Tamil Nadu Primary School Teachers Federation rejects NEP 2020, advocates for protection of government schools and quality education.

Resolutions rejecting the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and Hindi imposition in Tamil Nadu were adopted by Tamil Nadu Primary School Teachers Federation on the concluding day of the two-day Conference held in Dindigul on Friday.

The members said that if NEP 2020 was implemented in Tamil Nadu it would lead to Hindi imposition in the State. It was against Tamil Nadu’s two language policy. All the languages under the eighth schedule of the Constitution should be treated equally, the members said.

Another resolution was adopted at the conference to protect the government schools in Tamil Nadu. All the government schools should be protected and it was the duty of everyone to ensure it. Empowering the government schools will establish a strong education system for the benefit of the students.

It should be service oriented and schools should ensure that the students focus on their goals in order to achieve success. Schools and teachers play a huge role in shaping the future generations. The main objective should be providing quality education. Every child should have access to education, they said.
