CM Stalin expresses satisfaction over successful DMK-Congress seat-sharing deal for Tamil Nadu Assembly elections during a family event.
DMK president and Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Thursday (March 5, 2026) indicated he was happy to have successfully completed the seat-sharing exercise with the Congress for the upcoming Assembly elections in Tamil Nadu.
Participating in the marriage of School Education Minister, Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi’s relative at Thanjavur, Mr. Stalin said he had come here after having successfully completing the seat-sharing deal [on Wednesday night] which has been “appreciated by all”.
“My gesture to the media persons yesterday after signing the pact was to signal that it [seat-sharing] was over. It has gone viral media in social media too. It was a spontaneous gesture, not planned,” said a beaming Mr. Stalin.
After attending the marriage, the Chief Minister rushed back to Chennai to be present with the DMK and its alliance party nominees during their filing of nomination papers for the four Rajya Sabha seats at the Secretariat.
