In Tamil Nadu’s Thanjavur, a 12-year-old boy has been booked under the POCSO Act for impregnating a 17-year-old girl.
A 12-year-old boy from Tamil Nadu’s Thanjavur has been booked under the POCSO Act for allegedly impregnating a 17-year-old girl. The girl was admitted to the Raja Mirasudar Government Hospital by her parents after the girl developed stomach pain.
On admission to the hospital, it was found that the girl was nine months pregnant. She delivered a baby girl the same day. The Thanjavur all-women police station was informed by the hospital and a 12-year-old boy was responsible for her situation.
The police then booked the boy under two sections of the POCSO act. The boy has also been sent to a juvenile's home.
Meanwhile, police are also investigating if anyone else was also responsible for the girl's pregnancy and also as to how the family and the girl went about without knowing about the pregnancy.
