T.N. CM M.K. Stalin condemns assassination attempt on Farooq Abdullah, stressing violence is unacceptable in a democracy.
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Thursday (March 12, 2026) condemned the assassination attempt on former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister and president of the Jammu and Kashmir National Conference Farooq Abdullah.
In a post on X, Mr. Stalin strongly condemned the attempt on Dr. Abdullah’s life. He said such acts of violence are unacceptable in a democracy and added he was relieved to know that Dr. Abdullah was safe. He also expressed solidarity with Dr. Abdullah and his son and Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir Omar Abdullah.
On March 11, there was an attempt on the life of Dr. Abdullah at a wedding ceremony in Jammu, following which one person was detained.
