Superstar Rajinikanth is the highest tax payer in Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. Daughter Aishwaryaa received the award on behalf of her father on July 24.

Superstar Rajinikanth, on July 24, was honoured by the Income Tax Department. He was recognised as the highest and most prompt tax payer in Tamil Nadu. His daughter, Aishwaryaa, received the award from Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan at an event on July 24. Rajinikanth is also the highest paid actor in Tamil Nadu for several years now.

On July 24, Akshay Kumar received the highest tax payer award by the government. He received a certificate from the IT department.

Income Tax Day was celebrated in Chennai on July 24. Telangana Governor Tamilisai Soundararajan presided over the event where prompt tax payers were rewarded. At the event, Superstar Rajinikanth was honoured for being a high and prompt tax payer in Tamil Nadu.

His daughter and filmmaker, Aishwaryaa, received the award on his behalf. Sharing the photos, Aishwaryaa wrote, "Proud daughter of a high and prompt taxpayer. Many thanks to the #incometaxdepartment of Tamilnadu and Puducherry for honouring appa on #incometaxday2022 #onbehalfofmyfather (sic)."
