Former Pakistan cricketers have urged their cricket community to stop conspiracy theories and accept India's white-ball dominance. India successfully defended their T20 World Cup crown, beating New Zealand in a one-sided final on Sunday, March 8.
While Shoaib Akhtar and Mohammad Amir continue to question and take digs at India's T20 World Cup success, several former Pakistan cricketers have urged the country's cricket community to stop spreading conspiracy theories and instead accept India's supremacy in white-ball cricket.
Former Test batter Muhammad Wasim lashed out at critics, saying it was important for Pakistan to learn from India's success rather than finding faults and spreading rumours.
"We generally try to find faults and float conspiracy theories whenever we lose to India or they do well in big events. We need to stop that and accept that their team is a top side and we must try to improve ourselves by learning from our mistakes," Wasim said, as quoted by PTI.
While India bulldozed opposition teams on their way to the T20 World Cup title, Pakistan failed to progress beyond the Super 8 stage of the tournament. It was their second successive disappointing campaign in the T20 World Cup after they were knocked out in the group stage in the 2024 edition.
India successfully defended the crown when they hammered New Zealand by 96 runs in a one-sided final in Ahmedabad on Sunday, March 8.
Legendary Javed Miandad also chipped in, heaping praise on India's process-driven and structure-driven cricket. One of the finest batters of his era, Miandad recalled the long-lost dressing room environment that once helped Pakistan teams thrive under pressure.
