Sonali Phogat's funeral will be held on Thursday, August 25, at her farmhouse in Hisar, Haryana. The former Bigg Boss 14 contestant died on August 22 in Goa.
Sonali Phogat of Bigg Boss 14 fame breathed her last on August 22 in Goa. Earlier, it was said that the BJP leader passed away after a heart attack but later, after her family's complaint, Goa Police registered a case of unnatural death.
The Goa Police has now registered a murder case pertaining to the death of Sonali Phogat. The FIR has been registered under section 302 of IPC following the complaint made by her family. Sonali's body was handed over to her brother today, August 25 and her funeral will be held on August 26.
Sonali Phogat's brother took a 7.15 pm flight from Goa. He will be reaching Hisar, Haryana, tonight. The funeral will be held tomorrow, August 26, at her farm house in Hisar.
Sonali Singh Phogat hailed from Bhuthan village in Fatehabad district. She was married to late Sanjay Phogat of Harita, Hisar. He had also died under mysterious circumstances at his farm in December 2016 when Sonali was in Mumbai. Sonali is survived by a seven-year-old daughter.
Haryana CM ML Khattar reacted to Sonali Phogat's murder and said, "I spoke with CM Goa and police officials. Her family members have written a complaint suspecting murder. Will will know more after post mortem is done. Viscera samples will be tested there and also in Chandigarh."
Sonali's family has demanded CBI enquiry for her death. Speaking about the same, he added, "We will do as the family members ask for, if they give us their demands in writing, we will give it for further process."
Sonali, along with some of her staff members, had travelled to Goa on August 22. She went out to party that night and came back home the next day. Hours later, she was shifted to a hospital. In a new development, it is learnt that Sonali's nephew Vikas is blaming her PA Sudhir Sangwan for her death. Meanwhile, her brother also went live on Facebook to complain that no one is listening to the family.
