India Today
Skoda Auto India celebrates one year of the Kylaq with over 50,000 sales, an expanded variant line-up, enhanced features, strong safety credentials and anniversary offers, reinforcing its compact SUV success.
Skoda Auto India has marked the first anniversary of its sub-4m SUV, the Kylaq, by celebrating a significant sales milestone of over 50,000 units and announcing a comprehensive expansion of the model’s variant line-up. Building on its most successful sales year in 2025, the brand continues to strengthen its presence in India’s highly competitive compact SUV segment with more choice, more features and stronger value for customers.
Since its launch, the Kylaq has emerged as a key growth driver for Skoda Auto India, playing a crucial role in the brand’s best-ever annual sales performance in its 25th year in the country. Its blend of European style and safety standards, engaging driving dynamics, modern technology and competitive pricing has helped it establish a strong foothold among Indian buyers.
To commemorate the milestone, Skoda Auto India has expanded the Kylaq range from four variants and seven price points to six variants spread across 11 price points for 2026. The updated portfolio now includes the newly introduced Classic+ variant, positioned between the Classic and Signature trims, and the Prestige+, which sits at the top of the line-up, offering buyers greater flexibility and clearer differentiation across variants.
Commenting on the occasion, Ashish Gupta, Brand Director, koda Auto India, said, "The Kylaq is a strong testament to our long-term commitment to India and our entry into the market’s most competitive segment. Crossing the 50,000 sales milestone is truly humbling and reflects the growing trust in the koda brand. With customer-led enhancements and a wider, more structured variant range, we are making European technology more accessible than ever, while continuing to offer strong value and great driving cars for Indian roads."
A major highlight of the update is the introduction of the Kylaq Classic+, which makes the Kylaq the most accessible car in its segment to offer a torque converter automatic transmission. Despite its accessible positioning, the Classic+ comes generously equipped with features such as an electric sunroof, cruise control, Auto IRVM, rain-sensing wipers, LED headlamps and tail-lamps with LED DRLs, and a multi-function steering wheel.
Further democratisation across the range sees the Signature and Signature+ variants gain features like an electric sunroof, paddle shifters for the automatic transmission, rain-sensing wipers, rear wiper and washer, and LED reading lamps. At the top end, the Prestige line has been split into Prestige and the new Prestige+, allowing customers to choose between fully loaded variants based on their preferences and budget.
