Krishna Byre Gowda announces formation of SIT for forest and revenue land demarcation to resolve long-standing farmer issues.
Revenue Minister Krishna Byre Gowda said on Saturday that, as per the Supreme Court order, a Special Investigation Team (SIT) will be formed at district levels to demarcate forest land and revenue land. The SIT will then submit a report on the same.
He was speaking at the inauguration of the taluk administrative office building, Praja Soudha, at Mulki, Dakshina Kannada district. Mr. Gowda said that with the revenue and forest land issue haunting farmers for a long time, the government has taken it seriously to resolve the issue.
A joint survey is being conducted for forest and revenue land demarcation on land that was previously allotted to farmers. The Deputy Commissioners of all the districts have been told to take immediate action in this regard, the Minister said.
