Senior Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leader Manish Sisodia, who is contesting the upcoming Delhi Assembly election from Jangpura of south Delhi, on Sunday announced an ‘education manifesto’ for the constituency, promising two new schools and self-defense course for girl students, among others.
He promised two new schools in the Sarai Kale Khan and Hazrat Nizamuddin areas, and a self-defence course for girl students, among others. Mr. Sisodia said students, even after completing their school education, will be assisted in higher education and employment.
“As Delhi’s Education Minister [former], I have laid a strong foundation to provide quality education to every child in Delhi. Now, as MLA from the Jangpura constituency, I am here to continue this work and realise my dream of providing the best possible educational facilities to every child,” the former Deputy Chief Minister said.
The manifesto emphasises equal opportunities for students in aided and private schools.
“The 11 aided schools in the area will offer the same quality of facilities as Delhi government schools. The academic progress of their students will also be closely monitored. The Directorate of Education will ensure timely distribution of grants to all aided schools,” as per the manifesto.
The manifesto also promises teaching various Indian languages in schools.
“Spoken English courses will be introduced to enhance communication skills, alongside German, French, and Japanese language courses. Vocational subjects will be tailored to meet future employment needs so that students who complete their schooling can find suitable jobs or pursue higher education while working.- ITI Hazrat Nizamuddin will introduce new courses with world-class technology to create new job opportunities,” it added.
