In an exclusive chat with IndiaToday.in, TV actress Kanishka Soni revealed that she faced casting couch during the early days of her career. She is currently trending due to her decision to marry herself.
After Gujarat woman's much-talked-about sologamy, Indian television actress Kanishka Soni also announced her decision to marry herself recently. Kanishka is making headlines ever since she shared pictures of herself sporting sindoor and a mangalsutra. Unfortunately, the decision behind this step is quite a grave one for the Diya Aur Baati Hum actress. In an exclusive chat with IndiaToday.in, Kanishka Soni said that she has lost trust in men. She also shared a big revelation about facing casting couch in her career.
Kanishka Soni told IndiaToday.in, "I have faced a lot during the last 15 years of my life which made me lose trust in men. There are not one but several bad experiences. When I started in this industry, I was asked to please famous people and show my curves otherwise I wouldn't make it big. I once went for an audition where the person said I will have to show him my figure. I am a very shy person who comes from an extremely conservative family. So this made me really uncomfortable and I told him I won't do it. That person closed my file and said 'go home.' I was asked to compromise. These are the kind of experiences I faced in the film industry. I have realised now that without nudity, it is very difficult to work in this industry."
Kanishka further said, "I joined production for a while thinking things would be better here. But there also, men asked me to hang out with them to get ahead in my career. I was very troubled with all this and moved to Dubai. India supports all this and I just can't tolerate it."
After completing her education, Kanishka Soni appeared on the reality show Bathroom Singer on Filmy TV. She is known for playing Daisaa's daughter-in-law in Diya Aur Baati Hum. Other shows that she has appeared in are Do Dil Ek Jaan, Devon Ke Dev...Mahadev on Life Ok, Begusarai, Sankatmochan Mahabali Hanumaan and Kullfi Kumarr Bajewala. She was seen as Devi Ganga in Devi Adi Parashakti on Dangal TV.
