Shivangi Joshi's show Balika Vadhu 2 is now shifting to OTT. It will be streaming on Voot from February 28
Balika Vadhu 2 is now making a shift to an OTT platform and will no longer run on TV. The show will air on Voot Select now from February 28. Balika Vadhu 2 starred Shivangi Joshi as a grown-up Anandi, Randeep Rai as Anand and Samridh Bawa as Jigar. Their love triangle will be seen further in the story. The actors have now opened up about Balika Vadhu 2 shifting to Voot.
Shivangi Joshi told IANS, "It will be a new journey with a new concept for Balika Vadhu on Voot. I am looking forward to it. The show has its own set of followers and has been doing well on the platform. With OTT's rise and the youth space we intend to reach, I am hopeful we will create a space in the audience's hearts."
Talking about his role, Samridh Bawa said, "Playing Jigar has been an interesting experience. The role has helped me push my limits and bring the best out of me. But the most exciting part throughout this experience has been the response from the audience."
Randeep Rai is also happy with this new development. He said, "It makes me happy to know that we are taking a new direction and a new avatar of the show. I hope you guys like the show because our team really worked hard into making this show iconic."
The story of Balika Vadhu 2 revolved around Anandi and her fight against social evils. Set in Devgarh, Gujarat, the show depicted the story of two friends, Premji (Sunny Pancholi) and Khimji (Anshul Trivedi). Khimji's daughter Anandi (Shreya Patel) and Premji's son, Jigar (Vansh Sayani) are married to each other in a child marriage on the show. When Anandi turned 17 years old, she convinced her in-laws to let her study further. Jigar was Anandi's husband who is a brat, while Anand is Anandi's childhood friend. Anand and Anandi reunited after ages in college, which led to a love triangle on the show. Balika Vadhu 2 went off-air recently. It is being replaced by Ronit Roy's Swaran Ghar.
