Shia LaBeouf has been ordered to return to rehab after his Mardi Gras arrest.
A New Orleans judge ordered the controversial actor and former child star, 39, to enter treatment as well as weekly drug tests, including one done in the courthouse on Thursday, Feb. 27, according to the Associated Press. His attorrney confirmed the on-site drug test did not show illegal substances in his system, the outlet reported.
The judge set a $100,000 bond, but not before admonishing the "Megalopolis" actor's behavior, in which he allegedly assaulted two men outside a New Orleans bar after being thrown out during the holiday festivities. Police previously confirmed to USA TODAY that LaBeouf struck one nearby man multiple times using his closed fists and punched another in the nose. He was later arrested and charged with two counts of simple battery.
During his court appearance, the judge scolded the actor for apparently yelling homophobic slurs during the brawl, per AP.
Orleans Parish Criminal Court Judge Simone Levine expressed concern for the LGBTQ+ community and "the safety of this larger community, especially relative to a marginalized community that has gone through so much terror," according to the outlet.
