‘Shashi Tharoor will be out of Congress if…’: Kerala PCC chief Sudhakaran

Congress leader Sudhakaran said if Shashi Tharoor did not abide by party decisions, he “will be out” of the Congress.
Kerala Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president K Sudhakaran has warned party’s Lok Sabha MP Shashi Tharoor over his refusal to sign a letter to the central government. Sudhakaran said if Shashi Tharoor did not abide by party decisions, he “will be out” of the Congress. Enjoyed discussing Kerala’s development with CM @vijayanpinarayi. On some issues it is necessary to put political differences aside & get on with growth. The young people of our state deserve opportunities that the current economic situation does not offer them. pic.twitter.com/zBlmxLbR0N
Sudhakaran said, "Shashi Tharoor is like any other member of the Congress party. Everyone has their own opinion. If he abides by the party rules he will be in the party, otherwise, he will be out. Whether it is Shashi Tharoor or K Sudhakaran, a person who is party MP doesn't get to dismiss party decisions."

Two years ago, former Bangladesh PM Sheikh Hasina warned of an alleged plot by a 'white man' to establish a Christian state. In 2025, the Mizoram CM said Ukraine war veterans were using the state to enter Myanmar. The arrest of 7 foreign nationals by the NIA has prompted experts to suggest that the incidents might be connected.

Pradyut Bordoloi was a dyed-in-the-wool Congressi who vowed to never leave the party. The physical attack on him in 2025, and the Congress embracing "communal elements" pushed the Lok Sabha MP into joining the BJP. Bordoloi's exit from the Congress after three decades is significant for the party and Assam's politics.
