Shankar Mahadevan calls Abhi Na Jao Chhod Kar the best composed song till now

Shankar Mahadevan, Siddharth Mahadevan and Shivam Mahadevan joined India Today's Rajdeep Sardesai for India Today India Tomorrow Season 4. The trio belted out some numbers and also talked about hit songs.

Shankar Mahadevan and his sons Siddharth Mahadevan and Shivam Mahadevan joined India Today on October 1 for India Today India Tomorrow Season 4. In a conversation with Rajdeep Sardesai, the trio talked about the fusion of music in the entertainment industry, and also opened up about their favourite songs. Shankar, Siddharth and Shivam also belted out some hit numbers.

Shankar Mahadevan said, "We call ourselves the triple S." He added, "There is this one song that i listened to that made me feel, how can someone compose a song like this. It is probably the best written song till now. It is the best composed romantic song till now. The song is Abhi Na Jao Chhod Kar." This hit classic song is from the film Hum Dono. It is sung by Mohammed Rafi and Asha Bhosle. He also recalled doing a show with Javed Akhtar on Sahir Ludhianvi.

Shankar Mahadevan got early fame as an indipop star with his fusion of Carnatic, Hindustani and Jazz.At that time, his non-film album, Breathless topped the Indian music charts in 1998. He has composed several hit Bollywood numbers like Phir Milenge, Rock On, Heyy Babyy, Sikander, and many others.

Siddharth Mahadevan is also a composer who is known for his songs in the film Bhaag Milkha Bhaag in which he sang Zinda and the rock version of the title song Bhaag Milkha Bhaag. He got further acclaim for the song Malang by music director Pritam in the movie Dhoom 3. He has also composed music for the Marathi films Swapna Tujhe ni Majhe, and Sugar Salt Ani Prem. Meanwhile, Shivam Mahadevam is also a known playback singer.
