Shahid Kapoor says Mira Rajput 'needed to be cared for, handled with kid gloves' after marriage at 20

On Koffee With Karan 7, Shahid Kapoor said Mira Rajput 'needed to be cared for' after she married him at the age of 20. Shahid and Mira got married in 2015.
Shahid Kapoor got married to the love of his life, Mira Rajput, in 2015. At the time of their marriage, Shahid was 34 and his wife was just 20. Recently, on Koffee With Karan 7, Shahid spoke about his married life with Mira at length. The actor opened up about his life after marriage. And he heaped praise on his wife Mira by saying, "I feel she brings so much into my world and she balances me out and she makes me feel very normal and we have beautiful children."
On Karan Johar's chat show, Shahid Kapoor said, "When we got married, I was 34 and she was 20. So I had to approach it very differently. She needed to be cared for, with kid gloves. She had left everything in her life and had come to Bombay. I was very established in my space and films in general and this world of films can be very intimidating and judgemental."
He further mentioned, "Sometimes, I used to feel like I know too much and I think I can tell her what to do and how to be. But I sometimes used to do it from a place of wanting to protect her. This is because I had been in that place myself. I was this kid from Lokhandwala, who at 21, did well and didn't know how to be."
On the work front, Shahid Kapoor was last seen in Jersey with Mrunal Thakur. The film opened to a mixed response from the audience and, unfortunately, it didn't do well at the box office. The film was a remake of Nani's Telugu movie by the same name.
Next, Shahid will be featuring in Raj and DK's web show, Farzi, with Raashii Khanna. The series will premiere on Amazon Prime Video.
