More than a decade after Dr. Mark Sloan's TV death, "Grey's Anatomy" fans are mourning McSteamy once again.
Eric Dane, who played Sloan in the ABC medical drama, died on Feb. 19 at 53 after a battle with ALS, his representative confirmed in a statement.
"With heavy hearts, we share that Eric Dane passed on Thursday afternoon following a courageous battle with ALS," the statement said. "He spent his final days surrounded by dear friends, his devoted wife, and his two beautiful daughters, Billie and Georgia, who were the center of his world."
Dane, who revealed in 2025 that he had been diagnosed with the rare degenerative disease, was known for playing Sloan from 2006 to 2012.
Within the walls of Seattle Grace Hospital, where he was nicknamed "McSteamy," Sloan was known for his plastic surgery expertise and charming yet often arrogant personality.
