Security beefed up in Agra jails after rioting at UP's Fatehgarh jail leaves dozens injured

Security has been tightened in central and district jails of Agra after Fatehgarh district jail witnessed ruckus on Sunday when prisoners took to rioting and stone-pelting at the police.

Security has been tightened in central and district jails of Agra in Uttar Pradesh after Sunday's incident at Fatehgarh district jail where prisoners took to rioting after the death of an inmate.

Prison department sources said that the activities of the jails are being monitored with the help of CCTV cameras and other equipment. The barracks have been searched thoroughly. Strict instructions have been given to the jail officials from the government so that a ruckus like what took place in Fatehgarh jail should not happen in other jails.
