SDM, his team attacked by local mining mafia in UP's Bareilly

Members of a local mining mafia attacked SDM Vishu Raja and his team in Uttar Pradesh's Bareilly when he went to check illegal mining in Izzatnagar area.

Members of a local mining mafia on Monday attacked Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Vishu Raja in Uttar Pradesh's Bareilly when he went to check illegal mining in Izzatnagar area. While Bareilly SDM escaped unhurt, some of his team members sustained injuries in the attack. The incident was reported on Monday when Bareilly SDM rushed to the spot with his team after receiving information about illegal mining in the area. The mafia members opened fire and attacked the SDM and his team with knives. As soon as the Bareilly SDM reached the spot, the illegal minising mafia members surrounded them. As the officer's staff tried to remove them, the miscreants, armed with licensed revolver, country made firearm and sharp-edged weapons, fired upon the team.
