Dalbir Kaur, sister of Sarabjit Singh, who was killed in 2013 in a Pakistan jail, died late on Saturday night. The cause of Dalbir's death is said to be cardiac arrest. Dalbir was 60 years old.
Dalbir Kaur, sister of Sarabjit Singh who was killed in a Pakistani jail on charges of espionage, died late on Saturday night of cardiac arrest. Dalbir Kaur had launched a campaign to bring back Sarabjit Singh, a resident of Punjab, from Pakistan to India.
According to the information, the last rites of Dalbir Kaur will be performed today in Bhikhiwind, Punjab. Sarabjit was convicted by a Pakistani court for terrorism and espionage and sentenced to death in 1991. However, in 2008, the government had indefinitely stayed the execution of Sarabjit.
In 2013, a completely defenseless Sarabjit was literally hacked and bludgeoned to death by fellow inmates whose are believed to gained access to his cell in collusion with prison officials.
