
Sangeet Bharati to present classical musical programme on Sunday

Sangeet Bharati Foundation, Mangaluru, will present a novel and an exquisite classical music programme on the theme “Stree“ on Sunday from 5 p.m. at Ambedkar Bhavan, Urva Store.

Foundation Secretary Ushaprabha N. Nayak told reporters here on Thursday, that the programme will feature matchless classical Vocal Jugalbandi and a Violin Trio performance. Entry is free, and it will be a musical feast for music lovers.
Vibha Hegde of Yellapur and Shivani Mirajkar of Bengaluru will render a classical Vocal Jugalbandi accompanied on harmonium by Medha G. Bhat of Mangaluru and on tabla by Vijeta Hegde of Bhopal in the first half.
In the second half, a Violin Trio performance will be presented by Sangeeta Shankar, Ragini Shankar and Nandini Shankar from Mumbai, with tabla accompaniment by Anuradha Pal of Mumbai.
Eminent music Gurus of Mangaluru, Basti Kavita Shenoy, Vibha Nayak and Shrilatha Prabhu will inaugurate the “Stree.” The programme is sponsored by Union Bank of India, Karnataka Tourism Department, Canara Bank, Century Group Chairman P. Dayanand Pai, Karnataka Bank and Mudra Printers.
Ms. Nayak said the audience may remain seated 15 minutes before the commencement of the programme. Foundation president Ustad Rafiq Khan, trustees Muralidhar G. Shenoy, K. G. Ramesh and others were present.

The Italy-based MIR Group is planning to invest about € 20 million in Mangaluru to set up its manufacturing unit for the production of energy-efficient building materials such as Building Integrated Photovoltaic (BIPV) panels, thermal insulation materials and sodium-ion batteries, according to Sai Chandu, Sustainability Head, MIR Group.
