The chips allocated for the Galaxy S22 FE are reportedly being made available for the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.
Samsung has reportedly decided to abandon the Fan Edition model of the Galaxy S22 series. The South Korean tech giant wants to increase the production of the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra, which has been doing well in terms of sales for the company in India and other markets.
The Elec reported that the Galaxy Fan Edition series has not been discontinued. The report stated that the chips allocated for the Galaxy S22 FE are now being made available for the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra.
Samsung’s first Fan Edition smartphone, the Galaxy S20 FE, was quite popular and reportedly sold over 10 million units. The Galaxy S21 FE was hit by chip shortages, which delayed its launch. The S21 FE was launched only a month prior to the Galaxy S22 series earlier this year.
For the Galaxy S23 FE, Samsung aims to ship over three million units. In comparison, the company aims to ship 8.5 million Galaxy S23 units, 6.5 million S23 Plus units and 13 million Galaxy S23 Ultra units next year.
