Salman Khan's 1998 blackbuck poaching case transferred to Rajasthan HC

The Rajasthan High Court has agreed to transfer petition of Salman Khan's 1998 blackbuck poaching case.
In a big relief to Bollywood actor Salman Khan, the Rajasthan High Court has allowed the transfer petition of 1998 blackbuck poaching case. The pleas related to the case will now be heard by the High Court.
Salman Khan was accused of hunting and killing two blackbucks in Rajasthan's Kankani while he was in the state for the shoot of the film Hum Saath Saath Hain. The Bollywood actor was charged under section 9/51 of the Indian Wildlife (Protection) Act, 1972. A case under sections 3/25 and 3/27 of the Arms Act was also filed against Salman for allegedly keeping and using the fire arms with expired licence in the poaching of blackbucks.
In 2018, Bollywood icon Salman Khan was sentenced to five years in jail after a court in Jodhpur convicted him of killing two blackbucks. He was later granted bail in the case.
