Leela Nair, a retired professor of English at the University College in Mangaluru, passed away at her residence in Mangaluru on Tuesday night.

She was 72 and is survived by her husband Narayanan Nair, a former Principal of the same college and two daughters.
Leela Nair retired in 2014 as the Head of the Department of English after teaching at the college for 24 years. Earlier, she had taught at Mulabagilu.
