
Rohit Sharma begins IPL preparations, practices in front of packed crowd in Mumbai

India batter Rohit Sharma was seen practicing at Shivaji Park in Mumbai, ahead of the Indian Premier League 2026. Rohit has been cheering for India from the sidelines, being the brand ambassador of the T20 World Cup 2026.
Star India batter Rohit Sharma has begun his preparations for the Indian Premier League 2026 season (IPL 2026), as he was seen practising in front of a packed crowd at Shivaji Park in Mumbai. Rohit was also in attendance during the ICC Men's T20 World Cup 2026 semi-final against England national cricket team at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
Apart from cheering for India from the sidelines in his role as the brand ambassador of the tournament, the star batter also found time to practise ahead of the IPL. In a viral video, Rohit can be seen practising his wide array of shots in front of a packed crowd at the venue as he shares the nets with Angkrish Raghuvanshi.

Rohit has been in attendance for every India game in the ongoing T20 World Cup 2026 and is all set to be present for the final on Sunday, March 8, at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. After completing his duties as brand ambassador, Rohit will be seen straightaway in the IPL, which is scheduled to begin in the last week of March.
Rohit last featured in the ODI series against the New Zealand national cricket team, where he had a poor outing, accumulating just 61 runs in three innings. Prior to that, he scored two half-centuries in the ODI series against South Africa national cricket team and was also adjudged Player of the Series against Australia national cricket team, despite India’s 1–2 series defeat.
