Ricky Kej repeated his Grammys outfit, which was a navy-blue bandhgala on the Cannes Film Festival carpet as well.
Ricky Kej is in the news again and obviously it is for the right purposes. So the two-time Grammy Award winner won the hearts of many by repeating an outfit. What is it you ask? Well, the Bengaluru-based artist re-wore a bandhgala that he opted for the Grammys red carpet for the Cannes Film Festival also. He posted his picture on Instagram with a thoughtful caption and you should definitely check it out.
What Ricky Kej wore was a navy-blue bandhgala that featured an embellished collar and golden buttons. He paired the smart piece with a white kurta and grey fitted pants. The artist wrote a thought-provoking caption as well. “Fashion can be trendy twice. Rewear your outfits for different occasions and do your part in reducing damage dealt to the Earth. This year, I was on two of the biggest stages in the world- the Grammy Awards & Cannes Film Festival and chose to wear the same outfit,” he wrote in the caption.
“Fast fashion isn’t always fashionable. Especially when we consider its impact on our planet (The fashion industry is one of the most polluting on the planet). The use of toxic textile dyes, cheap materials and massive use of water translate to environmental pollution. For decades, repeating an outfit for galas and events would be considered a fashion blunder - encouraging people to switch up outfits for every event, making clothes 'Single Use'. It’s time to change that narrative. It’s time we consider our planet in this equation. Fashion can be trendy twice,” he added.
