As Russia declared war against Ukraine, Indian celebs took to social media to voice their opinion. Actress Tillotama Shome wrote that nothing can be uglier than war.
Russian President Vladimir Putin ordered the invasion of Ukraine on Thursday, February 24. He stated that it was aimed at 'demilitarisation' of Ukraine and added that Moscow does not plan to occupy Ukraine. He said the military action announced by him will seek to "demilitarize" Ukraine and came in response to threats from Ukraine. Many Indian celebs like Richa Chadha and Tillotama Shome have reacted to the situation.
Reacting to the ongoing Ukraine-Russia crisis, Tillotama Shome wrote that nothing can be uglier than war. "I worry incessantly for my mother who is battling cancer in themidst of covid. But when I think of the families and cancer patients in the middle of war, my brain just ceases to comprehend. Nothing absolutely nothing is uglier than war. Mothers don't give life for war (sic)," her tweet read.

Richa Chadha took to Twitter and wrote, "Every annexation/withdrawal of troops that push a country back into the Dark Ages/new data privacy rules, everything that’ll happen now will happen to ‘further democracy’ and in ‘national interest’. (If people don’t fight for freedom, we’ll be glorified serfs again badhai (sic)."
