Mani Ratnam has officially announced his next film featuring Vijay Sethupathi and Sai Pallavi, with music by AR Rahman. The project is backed by Lyca Productions and is expected to be a romantic drama.
Amid rumours about Mani Ratnam joining hands with young composer Sai Abhyankkar for the first time, the filmmaker announced his upcoming film with Vijay Sethupathi and Sai Pallavi. The maverick director dismissed rumours of a collaboration with Sai Abhyankkar and announced that he is reuniting with AR Rahman yet again.
On March 20, Mani Ratnam's production house Madras Talkies, unveiled their next project, which will be headlined by Vijay Sethupathi and Sai Pallavi. The announcement came weeks after Sethupathi confirmed the development in a recent interview.
The film is presented by Subaskaran of Lyca Productions.
While details of the film have been kept under wraps, rumours suggest that it could be a romantic drama.
Mani Ratnam and AR Rahman collaborated on Thug Life in 2025, which failed to perform well at the box office. The untitled film marks the fresh collaboration between Vijay Sethupathi and Sai Pallavi. Sethupathi and Mani Ratnam had earlier worked on Chekka Chivantha Vaanam.
Details regarding the film's title, shooting schedule and the rest of the cast are expected to be revealed soon.
