
Horses steal the show at Auroville event

Horses shone at Auroville's 2026 event, showcasing equestrian talent through dressage, derby, and show jumping competitions.
The Auroville Horse Show 2026 featured the discipline and skills of some of the finest and well-groomed hoofed animals and riders, from far and near, take the field.
Organised by the Red Earth Riding School (RERS) in Auroville, the 26th edition of the popular equestrian sport spectacle included dressage, often referred to as a ‘horse ballet’, derby, and show jumping.
This year’s show assembled around 140 horses and riders from across South India and beyond. Many young riders from Auroville also competed alongside participants from riding schools throughout the region. The furthest horses this year are travelling from Japaloupe near Pune, highlighting the growing reach and reputation of the event.
Teams comprising the horse-rider duo included from Bengaluru-based Embassy International Riding School, Surge Stable, Zippy Equestrian Center, Kings Farm Horse Riding School and Flying Sea Stallion; Madras Race Club Ridng School, Chennai Equitation Centre andEast Coast Equestrian from Chennai, Melmaruvathur Adhiparasakthi Equestrian Centre, Ambur Equestrian, and Japalouppe Equestrian Centre, Pune.
Horse-rider combinations from Auroville’s RERS also competed.
The five-day event, which was supported by the Mantena Group, brought together riders, families, and equestrian enthusiasts in a spirit of sport, dedication, and community, said Jacqueline Kapur, RERS founder.
