Republic Day celebrations in Krishnagiri marked with pomp and gaiety

Krishnagiri's 77th Republic Day celebrations featured flag hoisting, cultural performances, and honors for veterans and local achievements.
The 77th Republic Day celebrations were marked with pomp and gaiety at the Krishnagiri district stadium on Monday (January 26, 2026). The town came to witness the unfurling of the tricolour by Collector C. Dinesh Kumar and also witnessed the felicitation of the dependants of freedom struggle veterans.
The Collector unfurled the National Flag to the rendition of the National Anthem, presided over the flag salute and accepted the guard of honour.
The celebrations also witnessed 66 police personnel receiving the Chief Minister's police medals, and over 560 officers receiving certificates of excellence. The Collector also distributed welfare schemes worth ₹2.51 crore to 53 beneficiaries under the various departments.
Certificates of appreciation was also issued to corporate companies for their work under the Corporate Social Responsibility initiatives. This included Caterpillar, TITAN Industries, Titan Engineering, TVS Trust, Global Calcium, Tata Electronics, Kurinji International Trust, and Eye Research Foundation.
The day also witnessed over 910 students from St. Annal Girls Higher Secondary School, Mathur government Girls Higher Secondary School, Krishnagiri Government Girls Higher Secondary School, Bargur St. Annal Public School performing cultural programmes.
In Dharmapuri, the Republic Day celebrations were marked with patriotic fervour at the district sports complex. Collector R. Sadheesh unfurled the National Flag and distributed certificates of excellence to 174 government officials, police medals to 68 police personnel and distributed welfare schemes worth ₹2.38 lakhs to nine beneficiaries.
