
Republic Day celebrated with patriotic fervour in Cuddalore, Villupuram, Kallakurichi

Republic Day in Cuddalore, Villupuram, and Kallakurichi featured flag hoisting, awards, and cultural celebrations honouring freedom fighters and public service.
Honouring of freedom fighters, recognition of the services of government employees and police personnel, and distribution of welfare assistance marked the 77th Republic Day celebrations in Cuddalore, Villupuram and Kallakurichi districts on Monday (January 26, 2026).
In Cuddalore, Collector Sibi Adhithya Senthil Kumar unfurled the national flag at the Anna Stadium and took the salute along with Superintendent of Police S. Jeyakumar.
The Collector also honoured 105 government employees for their commendable and meritorious services. He also presented them with certificates of merit and appreciation. He then distributed the Chief Minister’s Police medal to 117 police personnel. The Collector distributed welfare assistance worth ₹6.29 crore to 107 beneficiaries.
Villupuram Collector Sheik Abdul Rahman unfurled the national flag at the Armed Reserve grounds here.
Mr. Rahman received the received the guard of honour from the police and distributed certificates of appreciation to 353 best-performing employees of the various departments.
