Reliance Jio adds maximum subscribers in April, Vodafone Idea loses 1.8 million users

Vodafone Idea (Vi) showed a decline of 1.8 million users in April 2021. This is a decline for Vodafone from the past two months when consecutively recorded additions in subscribers.
The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released its subscriber addition data for June. According to TRAI data, even though Jio added the maximum number of subscribers -- adding 4.8 million wireless users in the month, it also had the highest number of inactive subscribers. At 92.5 million, Jio accounted for 21.63 per cent of its subscriber base. TRAI noted that the number of telephone subscribers in India increased from 1,201.20 million at the end of March-21 to 1,203.47 million at the end of April-21, thereby showing a monthly growth rate of 0.19 per cent.
