In Kalimpong, a landslide occurred near Mahakal Dara under the Homes Gram Panchayat area and washed away three houses. An elderly man was badly injured by an uprooted tree, while his daughter and her 18-month-old child were buried under debris. Fortunately, the two were rescued by neighbours who heard the child’s cries.
