Realme confirmed a few days back that it will launch one of the first Snapdragon 778G-powered phones.

Realme may be planning to bring at least two new smartphones that use Qualcomm’s premium chipsets. Right after Qualcomm announced the new Snapdragon 778G 5G chipset, Realme said it will launch one of the first phones powered by that processor and this phone is codenamed “Quicksilver” right now. It did not say anything about when the launch of this phone would take place. But now, there is a rumour that Realme may have reserved June 18 for the launch of Quicksilver, or whatever it will be called then. Realme may also launch its rumoured Snapdragon 870-powered phone the same day. According to a Chinese tipster who goes by Digital Chat Station and is also a credible source, Realme will introduce at least two phones next month. And if not two, the Realme Quicksilver, which the company announced is in the making right now, may debut on June 18. And this phone is going to be the star of the event if the tipster is to be believed. The Realme Quicksilver uses the Snapdragon 778G 5G processor, which is an upgrade over the Snapdragon 768G chipset. “Snapdragon 778G 5G mobile platform is a 6nm chip with Qualcomm Kryo 670 CPU. It can achieve a 40% performance improvement and also has excellent energy efficiency,” said Realme in a press statement. For the other one, the Snapdragon 870-powered Realme phone, there have been quite some rumours around it. A few days back, a screenshot of a phone’s About Phone section emerged. The name of the phone in this screenshot is blurred, but what is visible is the list of specifications. This phone has a Snapdragon 870 processor, 12GB of RAM, and 256GB of internal storage. The RAM on this phone supports virtual expansion up to 5GB, according to the information divulged by the screenshot. And this phone will run on Android 11-based Realme UI 2.0. So, we do not have a name, or even the codename, for this phone yet, but should Realme choose to launch this on June 18, it will begin teasing the phone at least a week before.
