Rashmika Mandanna joins Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal after Parineeti Chopra’s exit

Reportedly, Rashmika Mandanna will star alongside Ranbir Kapoor in Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Animal. Recently, Parineeti Chopra opted out of the film for Imtiaz Ali’s Chamkila.

There is an exciting update regarding Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal. According to a report, Rashmika Mandanna has joined the cast of the Sandeep Reddy Vanga directorial venture. Recently, Parineeti Chopra decided to leave the film as her dates were overlapping with Imtiaz Ali’s Chamkila.

Animal announced the film on social media on January 1, 2021. The crime drama features Ranbir Kapoor in the lead role. As per Pinkvilla’s report, Rashmika Mandanna will play the role of his wife in the film. A source close to the project informed the publication, “Bhushan Kumar and Sandeep Reddy Vanga felt that Rashmika fits the bill to the T. They wanted a fresh cast, rather than repeating the pairing of RK with another actress. The duo feels that both RK and Rashmika will set the screen on fire with their chemistry in Animal. The two share an interesting dynamic in the film.”

Ranbir Kapoor is set to play an intense and dark character in Animal. In the film’s announcement video, the actor talked about his character’s troubled relationship with his father. In the same, Ranbir can be heard saying, "Papa, agle janam mein aap mera beta banna. Fir dekhna main aapko kaise pyaar karta hun aur sikhna aap. Kyunki uske agle janam mein vapis main beta aur aap papa. Tab na papa, apni tarah se pyaar karna, meri tarah se nahi. Aap samajh rahe ho na papa? Bas aap samajh lo toh kafi hai." The video ended in gunshots.

Animal is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Pranay Reddy Vanga, Krishan Kumar and Murad Khetani. The film’s cast also features Anil Kapoor and Bobby Deol.
