‘RAPO 22’: Kannada star Upendra joins Ram Pothineni’s next with director Mahesh Babu P

Kannada superstar Upendra has joined Ram Pothineni’s film, Rapo22, directed by Mahesh Babu P, with music by Vivek-Mervin

Kannada superstar Upendra, who is known to have a strong fanbase in the Telugu film industry, has joined the cast of Ram Pothineni’s upcoming film. Tentatively titled Rapo22, the movie is directed by Mahesh Babu P.

The movie is bankrolled by Ravi Shankar and Naveen Yerneni under the banner Mythri Movie Makers in association with T Series. Upendra will be seen playing a character named Surya Kumar in the film.

Details about his character remain under wraps. Bhagyashri Borse plays the female lead of the movie. The team has begun filming, and an official title announcement is expected soon. The makers recently revealed Ram Pothineni’s first look from the film, introducing his character as Sagar.

Vivek–Mervin, the music composer duo consisting of Vivek Siva and Mervin Solomon, will compose music for the upcoming film. The duo, known for working in Tamil films, will be making their Telugu debut with RAPO 22.

Meanwhile, Upendra will next be seen in the highly anticipated Tamil film Coolie, starring Rajinikanth and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film also stars Shruti Haasan, Satyaraj, Akkineni Nagarjuna and Soubin Shahir. Upendra was last seen in his directorial UI, which hit the screens on December 20, 2024.
