Ranveer Singh reveals how he perfected his Gujarati accent in a month for Jayeshbhai Jordaar

Ranveer Singh spilled the beans about how he nailed the Gujarati accent for his upcoming film, Jayeshbhai Jordaar. It will hit theatres on May 13, 2022.

Ranveer Singh is all set to entertain the audience with yet another film, Jayeshbhai Jordaar. The actor is known to nail every character he plays. Be it Kapil Dev in 83 or Bajirao Ballal in Bajirao Mastani, Ranveer never disappoints. However, it takes hard work and dedication to serve perfection with every flick and Ranveer’s forthcoming film, Jayeshbhai Jordaar, is no different!

Ranveer Singh’s Jayeshbhai Jordaar is just a few days away from its release and the actor has already been garnering appreciation for nailing the Gujarati accent. Given that he is playing a Gujarati on-screen, Ranveer worked with a diction coach for over a month and surrounded himself with Gujarati theatre actors during Jayeshbhai Jordaar’s shoot.

“For Jayeshbhai, I worked with a diction coach for over a month, because the way Jayeshbhai speaks is typical to those who hail from heartland Gujarat. I had to speak exactly how their Hindi would sound like and it was a necessary and an important task,” said Ranveer.

“I did a couple of more things, thanks to my director Divyang, who is also from Gujarat. He surrounded me with amazing artists from the Gujarati theatre and film world who have been cast in Jayeshbhai Jordaar. Divyang ensured that they were always around me on the sets so that I could constantly rehearse my scenes with them. This was an invaluable process for me to become Jayeshbhai,” added the actor.

Jayeshbhai Jordaar stars Ranveer Singh and Shalini Pandey in lead roles. Boman Irani, Ratna Pathak Shah and Deeksha Joshi play supporting roles. The film is produced by Aditya Chopra and Maneesh Sharma under Yash Raj Films. Jayeshbhai Jordaar is all set to release on May 13.
