Ram temple project in Ayodhya wins prestigious safety award, nears completion by June 2025 with intricate architectural details.
The Ram temple project in Ayodhya bagged the ‘Sword of Honour’ award from the British Safety Council, said Nripendra Misra, chairman of the Construction Committee of Shri Ram Janmbhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust, on Sunday (December 15, 2024).
Mr. Misra added that the ‘Sword of honour’ is one of the prestigious accolades in safety management, which is given after the British Safety Council conducts the audit of the process and practices, and finally does an on-site activity assessment.
“Only those who achieve a five-star assessment are eligible to enter for the Sword of Honour award contest. Earlier M/s Larsen & Toubro responsible for the construction of the temple were also awarded ‘Golden Trophy’ by the National Safety Council for safety measures taken in the construction of Ram Temple,” added Mr. Misra.
Mr. Misra also informed that the construction of the first and second floors including the “Shikhar” (top) of the temple along with other significant temples has entered the last phase with a likely completion schedule by June 2025. The marble statues of Shri Ram Darbar and the sages Maharishi Valmiki, Ahilya Devi, Nishad Raaj, Sabri, Muni Vashishth, Agatsya Muni, Rishi Vishwamitra and Goswami Tulsi Das will be carved by January 2025.
“The meticulous architectural drawings and structural stability work have been contributed by artist Vasudev Kamath, architects Shri Sompura, Shri Jay Kaktikar, and the institutions CBRI & M/s TCE. As is known, it is a stone temple which will have total Bansi Paharpur stone of Rajasthan of approximately 15 Lakh cubic feet with significant marble cladding,” added Mr. Misra.
