Ram Charan and Upasana Konidela have announced the names of their newborn twins, Shivram and Anveera Devi, following a traditional naming ceremony that reflected both cultural significance and family involvement.
It’s double the joy in the Konidela household. Actor Ram Charan and entrepreneur Upasana Konidela have formally introduced their newborn twins following a traditional Naamkaran ceremony attended by close family and friends.
The couple, who welcomed the twins on January 31, marked the occasion with customary rituals rooted in faith and family tradition. For Charan and Upasana, the naming process was not merely ceremonial but deeply personal, a thoughtful journey shaped by spirituality and guided by elders, he told Variety.
“Naming them was a deeply personal and spiritual decision for both of us. Upasana and I discussed it extensively, but our parents were very much part of the journey. In our culture, elders bring wisdom and blessings, so their presence in that process meant a lot to us,” Charan said.
Their son has been named Shivram, a name that reflects devotion and lineage. Charan explained that it draws from Lord Shiva and Lord Rama – symbolising strength with restraint and righteousness with compassion. The name also carries forward his father’s birth name, Shiv Shankar Vara Prasad, weaving family legacy into the next generation.
Their daughter has been named Anveera Devi, a name that embodies courage and divine feminine strength. “Veera signifies bravery, and ‘An’ expands it to something limitless. The ‘Devi’ is intentional – a reminder that strength and grace can co-exist. For us, these names are not just identifiers. They are aspirations of strength, love and courage,” he shared.
Reflecting on embracing motherhood for the second time, Upasana described the experience as calmer and more conscious. “The first time, everything is new – beautiful, but overwhelming. This time, I feel much more relaxed and grounded. I’ve learned to let go and not panic over small things anymore,” she said.
