Railways exam protest: Khan Sir urges students not to participate in Bihar Bandh

Amidst calls for Bihar Bandh on Friday by students protesting against the Railways recruitment exam, YouTuber Khan Sir has appealed for calm.

A host of student organisations have called a Bihar Bandh on January 28 in protest of alleged irregularities in the Railway Recruitment Board's examination process. Amidst this, YouTuber Khan Sir, alleged to have incited the violent protests, has appealed for calm.

Khan Sir has urged students not to participate in any kind of bandh on Friday as it will be a “wrong step” to take while the government considers their demands and concerns.

Several students’ organisations, including the All India Students Association (AISA), have threatened a state-wide bandh on Friday to protest against alleged discrepancies in the Railway Recruitment Board's Non-Technical Popular Categories (RRB-NTPC) exam 2021.

Khan Sir, who holds coaching classes for competitive examinations, has been booked for provoking students. An FIR was registered against him in Patna after agitating students who were detained by the police claimed he had a role to play in the violent protests.

The students purportedly said that they were motivated to indulge in violence after a video, in which Khan Sir allegedly instigated students to agitate on the streets if the RRB-NTPC exams were not cancelled, went viral on social media.

The student unrest in Bihar over the Railways recruitment exam took a violent turn earlier this week. Candidates went on a rampage, squatting on railway tracks, setting a train on fire, and pelting another with stones.
