JDU national president Lalan Singh has come out in support of Youtuber Khan Sir, who has been named in an FIR related to violent protests over railway recruitment exam results.
Janata Dal United's national president Lalan Singh on Thursday urged the Centre to immediately withdraw the FIR against Youtuber Khan Sir and agitating job aspirants.
Khan Sir, who provides coaching for competitive examinations, has been accused of inciting violence during a protest in Patna on Monday.
Thousands of railways job aspirants had assembled at the Rajendra Nagar Railway terminal, disrupted train operations for over five hours and allegedly vandalised railway property on Monday to protest against alleged anomalies in the tests conducted by the Railway Recruitment Board for the Non-Technical Popular Categories (RRB NTPC).
The FIR also names owners of several other coaching institutes.
"Coaching institutions, including Khan Coaching in Patna, build the future of poor and promising youth of Bihar and the country through online medium. Railway/ police should immediately withdraw the cases registered against these people," Lalan Singh said in a tweet on Thursday.
The JDU leader said that the protests were a result of irregularities at the end of Railway Recruitment Board.
"The agitation among students of Bihar and UP is a reaction to irregularities in RRB NTPC exam process and result. An inquiry committee has been formed to look into these irregularities at the Railway Recruitment Board. I hope speedy justice to the students/ candidates," Lalan Singh said.
