Rising Stars Asia Cup: Radha Yadav put in a strong all-round performance as India A Women beat Sri Lanka A Women by five wickets on Friday, February 20 at the Terdthai Cricket Ground in Bangkok.
India A Women stormed into the final of the Women's Asia Cup Rising Stars with a commanding five-wicket victory over Sri Lanka A Women at the Terdthai Cricket Ground on Thursday. An all-round masterclass from Radha Yadav proved decisive as India chased down 119 with 39 balls to spare to set up a summit clash against Bangladesh on Sunday, February 22.
India will now meet Bangladesh in the final after the latter produced a dominant display in the second semi-final. Bangladesh crushed Pakistan by 54 runs, bowling them out for just 56 in 16.4 overs while defending a modest 110.
Opting to bat, Sri Lanka A Women were restricted to 118 in 19.4 overs after a disciplined bowling display from India. Sanjana Kavindi top-scored with 31 off 35 balls, while Shashini Gimhani added a brisk 22. However, Sri Lanka struggled to build lasting partnerships as wickets fell at regular intervals.

Radha Yadav was the chief destroyer with the ball, returning impressive figures of 4 for 19 in 3.4 overs. Her left-arm spin dismantled the middle and lower order, ensuring Sri Lanka could never accelerate in the death overs. She found strong support from Prema Rawat, who claimed 2 for 9 in a miserly four-over spell, and Tanuja Kanwar, who chipped in with two wickets of her own.
In reply, India A made a confident start despite losing Nandini Kashyap early. Dinesh Vrinda counterattacked brilliantly, smashing 42 off just 20 deliveries, laced with eight boundaries, to seize the momentum. Anushka Sharma contributed a fluent 27 as India surged ahead in the chase.

Hours after the Tarique Rahman-led BNP government was sworn in, newly appointed state minister for sports, Aminul Haque, said he wanted cases against Awami League-loyalist cricketers, Shakib Al Hasan and Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, resolved so that they could return to cricket. The former Bangladesh captains served as Awami League MPs and face multiple charges.
