Harmanpreet Kaur’s joy knew no bounds after she became the most-capped player in the history of women’s international cricket. The Indian skipper achieved the milestone on Thursday, February 19, during the second T20I of the three-match series against Australia at the Manuka Oval in Canberra.
Harmanpreet surpassed New Zealand legend Suzie Bates to script history. Among Indian players, Mithali Raj ranks second on the list with 333 international appearances.

Before the match, head coach Amol Muzumdar delivered a special speech in her honour, praising her contribution to Indian women’s cricket.
“We are in such a state of Indian women’s cricket that every time somebody takes the field, it's always a historic moment. But this is an absolutely special occasion because someone among our group is playing her 356th match,” Muzumdar said.
After the brief ceremony, an emotional Harmanpreet acknowledged the moment by patting herself on the back. Her teammates, including Richa Ghosh and Amanjot Kaur, then embraced her warmly to celebrate the historic achievement.
