Lalbagh's Republic Day flower show attracted over 8 lakh visitors and generated ₹2.75 crore, highlighting its growing popularity.
The Republic Day flower show at Lalbagh Botanical Garden, centred around celebrated Kannada writer and thinker K.P. Poornachandra Tejaswi, attracted more than eight lakh visitors and generated close to ₹2.75 crore in revenue, the State Horticulture Department said.
The flower show was held from January 14 to January 26, as part of the Republic Day celebrations.
Last year’s Republic Day flower show at Lalbagh, themed on Adikavi Maharshi Valmiki, had recorded a total footfall of 4.75 lakh visitors and earned the Horticulture Department a revenue of ₹2.3 crore.

On the final day of the flower show, family members of Kuvempu and Tejaswi visited the flower show.
This year, a bookstore was also organised on the premises, featuring 54 titles authored by Tejaswi. The stall recorded sales of over 13,000 books during the exhibition, including 3,800 copies of Carvalho alone.
